The Family Behind Marshaland Cattery

Moving to our home in Marshland St James gave me the opportunity to fulfil a lifelong dream of opening my own cattery.

Marshaland Cattery is very much a family venture. Our home is shared by myself, my husband Doug, our three children—Alfie, Aimee and William—and, of course, our much-loved Ragdoll cats. Our cats are part of our family life and are raised in a loving home where they receive plenty of attention, affection and daily interaction.

Animals have always been at the heart of my life and career. I began as a professional dog groomer, running my own successful grooming business before expanding my skills to include cat grooming. After many years in the industry, I opened my own training academy, where I taught aspiring dog groomers. I hold a recognised teaching qualification, an assessor qualification and an Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) qualification.

To ensure the very highest standards of care, I went on to achieve my Level 3 Diploma in Kennel and Cattery Management, as well as completing Feline First Aid training.

Today, we share our home with four beautiful Ragdoll cats, who are first and foremost cherished family pets. We occasionally have carefully planned litters, always prioritising health, temperament and welfare above all else. Like many breeders, I tell myself I won't be keeping another kitten—but somehow, one always manages to stay!

Whether you're entrusting your cats to us for boarding or looking to welcome a pedigree Ragdoll kitten into your family, you can be confident they will receive the same love, care and attention that we give our own.

Our Boaring Cattery

At Marshaland Cattery, your cat's comfort, care and welfare are at the heart of everything we do. Our purpose-built cattery has been thoughtfully designed to provide a safe, peaceful and relaxing environment where your feline companions can feel secure while you're away.

We have four bespoke, spacious family pens, designed to accommodate up to four cats from the same household. This allows your cats to stay together in familiar company, helping to reduce stress and making their stay as enjoyable as possible.

Each pen has been built with your cat's wellbeing in mind and includes:

  • Spacious indoor accommodation with comfortable sleeping areas

  • Secure outdoor exercise runs

  • Climate-controlled air conditioning to keep your cats comfortable throughout the year

  • Heated sleeping areas for the colder months

  • Raised shelves and platforms for climbing, lounging and observing their surroundings

  • Scratching posts and enrichment to encourage natural behaviours

  • Fresh water available at all times

  • Daily cleaning and disinfection to maintain the highest standards of hygiene

Set in the peaceful countryside of Marshland St James, our cattery offers a calm and quiet environment away from the hustle and bustle, allowing your cats to relax and enjoy their own holiday.

As a fully qualified cattery owner with a Level 3 Diploma in Kennel and Cattery Management and Feline First Aid training, you can have complete peace of mind knowing your cats are receiving the highest standards of professional care.
